Troop 1190

Who are We?

Boy Scout Troop 1190 is part of the Golden Arrow District, in the Sam Houston Area Council, Boy Scouts of America. We are chartered by the Brotherhood of Congregation Emanu El, in Houston, Texas. We are committed to imparting: self-reliance, leadership, outdoor skills and fun! Boy Scouting is for boys who have earned the Arrow of Light Award in Cub Scouts (and are 10 1/2) or have completed the fifth grade, or who are 11 through 17 years old.

Meetings

Sundays 1:45 – 3:30 during the school year at Emanu El

Activities

Camping almost every month – kayak, fish, bike, hike, and more

Learn survival skills like knot tying, first aid, orienteering

Earn merit badges such as archery, nuclear science, and space exploration

Boy Lead

Troop is run by scouts. Boys choose the activities and lead them. Adults are present as advisers and for safety.

Eagle Scouts

Eagle scouts stay active in the troop as instructors and role models. We have one of the highest percentages of boys achieving the Eagle rank in the country.
