Who are We?
Boy Scout Troop 1190 is part of the Golden Arrow District, in the Sam Houston Area Council, Boy Scouts of America. We are chartered by the Brotherhood of Congregation Emanu El, in Houston, Texas. We are committed to imparting: self-reliance, leadership, outdoor skills and fun! Boy Scouting is for boys who have earned the Arrow of Light Award in Cub Scouts (and are 10 1/2) or have completed the fifth grade, or who are 11 through 17 years old.
Meetings
Sundays 1:45 – 3:30 during the school year at Emanu El
Activities
Camping almost every month – kayak, fish, bike, hike, and more
Learn survival skills like knot tying, first aid, orienteering
Earn merit badges such as archery, nuclear science, and space exploration
Boy Lead
Troop is run by scouts. Boys choose the activities and lead them. Adults are present as advisers and for safety.
Eagle Scouts
Eagle scouts stay active in the troop as instructors and role models. We have one of the highest percentages of boys achieving the Eagle rank in the country.
